Asphalt Shingles
Definition: A popular roofing material made from a base of organic felt or fiberglass, coated with asphalt and embedded with mineral granules. These shingles are durable (15-20 years), cost-effective, and easy to install, making them the most common choice for residential roofs in North America.
Types of asphalt shingles:
Three-Tab Shingles: The most basic type, featuring a flat, uniform appearance with cutouts along the lower edge, giving the illusion of three separate pieces.
Architectural Shingles: Also known as dimensional or laminate shingles, these are thicker and have a more textured, layered appearance, mimicking the look of wood or slate. They offer better durability and longer warranties.
Luxury Shingles: The highest quality asphalt shingles, designed to replicate the appearance of natural slate or cedar shakes. They offer superior durability, aesthetic appeal, and the longest warranties among asphalt shingles.
