Gutter Apron

Definition: A gutter apron is a piece of metal flashing applied to the roof’s edge to channel rainwater away from the roof into the eavestrough system. Installed under the shingle and above the back edge of the gutter, it keeps water away from the roof deck and fascia by keeping it from passing behind the gutters.

Purpose and Functionality:

Installation Process:

• Setting up the Apron: Position the gutter apron below the first row of shingles, with the bottom edge touching the back of the gutter.
• Secure: Using roofing nails or screws, anchor the apron to the roof deck until it is firmly attached and waterproofed.
